I sent this email to Lynn October 23, 2014. Lynn never responded to this email.
Lynn,
I want to clarify what you said to me at our meeting at 10 am on July 31, 2014
You said:
- We have worked together for a month; *actually we worked together for about two weeks; I have email documentation.
- I haven't followed the rules. *What were the unwritten rules?
- You don't like my videos. *Previously in an email and in person you gave me positive feedback.
- We don't think your videos will benefit the dogs getting adopted. *I have much evidence from others that my videos have been instrumental in finding homes for dogs.
- I have been seen filming dogs on the street. I am never to do this again. If I do, you will have to ban the volunteer walking the dog I am filming on the street. *No staff ever told me that they didn't want me to do this.
- My videos are shared from my YouTube channel and are seen places online other than YouTube. This is not allowed. *I can't control the sharing of links from my YouTube channel. If you want a dog to get adopted then wouldn't you want them to be getting the most exposure possible?
- Before I upload my videos to my YouTube channel, I have to get your permission. *By consenting to me volunteering to videotape dogs for adoption purposes, you are in essence consenting to the dissemination of those videos. A volunteer should not be held to a duplicative obligation to seek permission prior to uploading. If Greenhill wishes to impose written criteria for the video production in exchange for the opportunity to videotape dogs for adoption purposes, they could do so.
- I have not done as you instructed me in the videos; have the dogs sit, stay etc. *I usually ask volunteers to have the dog sit and have them do whatever else will make them look good. I have ample video evidence.
Please let me know if this is not your understanding. I would appreciate your clarification on any of these points. If I haven't heard from you in writing by October 27, I will conclude that you are in agreement with all of the above.
- I have not been respectful. *I have always been respectful.
- Kristi said I was not even an official volunteer. *I went through the volunteer training in 2011, AND when Greenhill took over LCAS I was grandfathered in along with the rest of the LCAS volunteers.
